There appears to be a problem with rank purchases on the website. I have removed the modules that allow you to purchase ranks to prevent any over payment issues that may arise. I have also redirected the Purchase Now page to the contact page so that if you do have any questions, you can get answers, this is only temporary until this issue has been resolved.

DDoS Attacks

As many of you may have noticed our servers have been down for over 12 hours now, we have been under a constant DDoS since early afternoon yesterday, while our DDoS protection mitigates most DDoS attacks against our servers, this one was so large that it affected our entire hosting provider, to the tune of 80 Gbps.

We were able to get the server up for a few hours yesterday by altering our server's IP, but it only lasted awhile as our server host is having issues from the large DDoS. I cannot say when the servers will be back up and not lagging, however I would like to take this time to inform all of you that we are currently working on moving to a more powerful hosting provider and hope to have this transfer done by late June.

As our hosting providers and Don continue to work on the problem I hope to have more news for you about this issue as the day goes on, please stay tuned and I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Minecraft 1.5.2

Hello ObsidianCrafters!

Edit: Safe to Update Now

You may have noticed that 1.5.2 came out today, currently you will not be able to play on the server if update to 1.5.2. We currently cannot update the server to 1.5.2 because many custom plugins have to be modified to work with the new CraftBukkit API. You will need to hold onto Minecraft 1.5.1 until further notice.

Old Map Lockdown

As you may have noticed a few days ago you can no longer make any changes to the old map, this is to get any people who were still playing over there playing on the new map. On May 4th we will be locking down the old map entirely and it will be cut off from players, please make sure you get your items and transfer requests transferred before that date.

Hello again everyone, the map change is here and the Transfer Request thread has been opened. For the first 48 hours the forum will ONLY be open for VIP+, this is to allow our donators time to get their requests in. Head on over there to post your Transfer Request, please refer to the previous News Posts for more information. Again be aware that spamming PS stones is not allowed, either make a Land/City Founding Request or ask an EliteMod+ to region an area for your pastes.

I would also like to remind everyone that while we are getting a new map, for both the normal and nether maps, that spamming PS stones everywhere in an attempt to claim massive amounts of area is against the rules. PS stones will be taken down if you over use them, that is what land/city founding requests are for.

Minecraft 1.5 Safe to Update

Hello Obsidiancrafters!

You are now safe to update your Minecraft client to 1.5, the forum for transfer requests will be made open once the new map is up and generated.

As always please be aware that there will be hundreds of transfer requests, some very big, not only will it take the staff a long time to process all the requests, but there may be more lag than usual during the transfer period, I humbly ask that you please bear with us during this time as we move on to bigger and better things.

Here is a sneak peak of the spawn in birds eye view! Its getting there...

Next I'm going to work on making it looking less like a cutout...

Redstone Update, New Map FAQ and Survival Games Revamped!

Hello ObsidianCrafters!

The new update will be upon us over the next 24 hours.

The new update, entitled the RedstoneUpdate is scheduled to release on Wednesday March 13th, from the time.

Now remember, DON'T UPDATE, until we say it is safe to do so.

A few of features listed to come with this awesome update include:
Added Redstone Comparator (used in Redstone logic)
Added Hopper (collects items and moves them to containers)
Added Dropper (similar to Dispensers, but always drops the item)
Added Activator Rail (activates TNT Minecarts)
Added Daylight Sensor
Added Trapped Chest
Added Weighed Pressure Plate
Added Block of Redstone
Added Nether Brick (item)
Added Nether Quartz and ore
Added Block of Quartz, with half blocks and chiseled variants
New command: /scoreboard
and so much more!

1.5 also (as you may already know) brings a map change.

Here are a few of your Frequently Asked Questions:

Will we keep our inventories?
Yes, all inventories will be transferred, this includes your /chest, ender chest and normal and creative inventories.
Do we need to take our stuff off the Virtual Market to transfer?
Nope, your Virtual Market Items will transfer automatically along with your inventories
Will we lose our stuff?
Not necessarily. A part of the Map Transfer process is the User Transfer Requests. Using the format set out here, you should be easily able to have your build moved*
Is there a limit on Transfer Requests?
Yes, however, we are willing to go over for REALLY nice builds. The Structure of Limits is like this

VIP-Premium: 2
Supporter-Executive: 3
CEO-King: 4
Overlord+: 5

How long will the old map be open for?
The *current* map will be open for 1 month, for you to transfer chest items and the like, this time period also applies to Transfer Requests

Hopefully this answers all your questions. If you still have a Question, just contact a Staff Member.

1.5 Brings a Map Change!

Hello again ObsidianCrafters!

As you may have heard over the last month, we have announced that the map will be reset for 1.5!

There will be new everything! New Spawn, New Imperial City, New LARGE BIOMES and New Nether and Over-world map generation changes, including more emeralds and introducing NETHER QUARTZ!

Now, don't worry! Your builds will remain intact!

Here's the process we go through so you can have a brand new map with YOUR builds on it:

1. Generate a new map (BIG, Large Biomes, Nether quartz, the works).
2. Add the new spawn (yes the /warp Newspawn) and the important knobs and whistles to make it run (Spleef, Treefarm, Hub Portal, etc.), plus all of the other important things that we need before we let you guys on.
3. Lock the old map and switch to the new one.
4. The Transfer Request Process Begins

Now the Transfer Process is Simple:

1. Get Coords of Builds old place
2. Get Coords or paste position
3. Post a request.

SIMPLE!

Please remember if you have any questions, contact a Staff Member, and they'll try and help you out.

A More in-depth explanation on the transfer process can be found closer to the Change Date (still currently unknown).

We have some exciting news for you guys.

Our New Hub System has been implemented and is now available. Just do /hub in any of our servers and check it out!

As of today (01/9/13), v1.4.7 of Minecraft was released.

1.4.6 Fireworks and beacons!

Hello ObsidianCrafters,

Now you are safe to update, we have removed the restriction on beacons. Now all players can use them! However, to encourage our good cause we will be switching it to fireworks.

ObsidianCraft will be trying to raise $1000 for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. This hospital is on the cutting edge of cancer research and development. This hospital's advancements in stem cell transplants have saved tens of thousands of women from breast cancer, including my own mother. In an effort to support this cause we will be rewarding players who wish to donate to this cause. 100% of your donation will go straight to Sloan-Kettering and is tax deductible.

Those that donate $20 will (1) be able to use any firework on the map, (2) receive 1 beacon through /redeem and (3) you will receive a limited time tag on the site to denote your assistance.
